2020 has been a unique year. We continue to hear the phrase “in these unprecedented times,” and it’s true that plans for the year have undoubtedly changed. With so many Americans working and conducting everyday activities online, it’s more important than ever to keep information and cyber security top-of-mind.
Held every October, National Cyber Security Awareness Month‡ (NCSAM) is a cooperative effort to help increase awareness of the importance of online safety, and to ensure every American has the resources to be safer and more secure online—personally and professionally.
The overarching theme for 2020 is “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” The theme empowers individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace, with an emphasis on the key message for 2020: “If you connect it, protect it.”
UMB is once again a proud Cyber Security Awareness Month champion, helping to promote a safer, more secure and more trusted internet to our associates and customers. If everyone does their part – implementing stronger security practices, raising community awareness, educating our circles of influence – our interconnected world could be safer and more resilient for everyone.
