Building communities: UMB partners with Habitat for Humanity to Rock the Block
This summer, UMB served as the lead sponsor of the 37th home built in Wichita Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block neighborhood. UMB associates volunteered over the course of several months to help build the home for a deserving family of four.
Since 1913, UMB has been committed to giving back to every community we serve. This summer UMB was lead sponsor of the 37th home built in the Wichita Habitat for Humanity Rock the Block‡ neighborhood. The Rock the Block neighborhood is an initiative to improve the area bounded by Ninth to 13th streets and Hillside to Grove streets by providing quality, affordable housing to deserving families in our community.
Watch the moment the keys to a new home are given to this family of four.
I heard from several of our associates in Wichita, and from across Kansas, about how excited they were to work with this very deserving family to give them a safe and stable place to call home. Personally, I am honored to serve as the chair of the Wichita Habitat for Humanity board of directors, which made this project even more meaningful. Habitat for Humanity continues to make great strides in providing affordable housing options in Wichita and the UMB team was thrilled to contribute to that goal.
