With a career in finance, my first introduction to wealth management was through the investment portfolio, which is one of the keys to your financial plan. With all of the options, financial planning can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be complicated for those starting out. Watch my conversation with Gary below, who is interested in getting started on investing and wondering how.

Financial planning questions

If you’re interested in building your wealth and investing, I recommend starting today and staying consistent. Here are some of the most common questions we hear from those looking to start building wealth.

How much money do I need to start financial planning?

One of the greatest misconceptions in financial planning is this idea that you need lots of money to get started. In a broad sense, consider what wealth you possess today. Never underestimate the amount of money in your pocket today. Everybody has to start somewhere and the earlier the better. It’s really fulfilling to be able to help people start early because the real investing secret is time.

The earlier you start, the more opportunity you have.

I want to start planning now. What’s the first step?

The first step is to understand your goals. What we want to figure out is your end destination, which allows us to work backward to build a plan today that can get you there.

I can put you on path today so that we can reach the goal that you’ve set for yourself at the end. It’s really called discovery. We go to discover how you spend, save and think about your money. And when you think forward, we go into personal detail because that’s the way we add value and customize your plan. It’s a two-way street for sharing insight: you tell us about you, and we help you build the plan to match.
