Cydney Gurgens joined UMB in 2014 as senior vice president and director of commercial real estate. She is responsible for establishing the investment commercial real estate lending platform for the company, managing a team of commercial lenders and underwriters, and providing oversight for all investment commercial real estate lending activities across the bank.
Spencer Erickson is tax managing director, alternative investments at UMB Fund Services. He oversees all aspects of tax reporting for the firm’s many private fund tax clients. Spencer is a leading tax expert in the hedge fund and private equity industry. He advises fund clients on entity/fee structuring, allocation methodology, and investment/operations for tax efficiency.
Brandon is an assistant vice president and fiduciary tax manager in the Private Wealth Management division of UMB Bank, and has been with the bank for more than seven years. He holds a master’s degree in accounting from University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) and a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from UMKC.
John Mastro is senior vice president of commercial loans in Colorado. In this role, he is responsible for building long-term relationships, targeting new business relationships and managing credit risk. He is actively involved in the Denver community, and has been actively volunteering with Junior Achievement (JA) Rocky Mountain for more than 15 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Denver.
Adam McDiarmid is president of small to medium business at UMB Bank. In this role, he is responsible for the implementation of the strategic business plan for serving small and mid-market businesses across the footprint, including portfolio growth, performance quality and managing day-to-day operations. He has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of South Carolina.
Steven Thornburg is SVP, senior regional delivery manger, Colorado, personal banking for UMB Bank. He has more than 17 years of experience in the industry and has held various leadership positions supporting both consumer and small business banking.
John Ward has been with UMB since 1994, most recently serving as a senior project manager in UMB’s Enterprise Project Management Office. John also serves as the Chairman of the Veterans Engagement Taskforce (VET) Business Resource Group, which focuses on supporting veteran causes inside and outside of UMB. John is a US Army veteran, serving active duty from 1980-1990 and spent 7 years stationed overseas in Berlin and Frankfurt.
Sara Harris joined UMB in 2010. As vice president for UMB Fine Art Management Services and a senior trust advisor, Sara is responsible for managing a major art collection, along with estate planning and administration for high-net-worth clients. Sara’s role is unique, as UMB is the Midwest's single source for comprehensive fine art management services. In this dual role, she works closely with a team of UMB advisors to ensure clients are receiving personal attention and their financial needs and concerns are addressed.
Kelly Eschweiler currently serves as Senior Vice President/Director Associate Experience & Rewards for UMB Financial Corporation, a full service financial provider for commercial, institutional and personal clients across the United States. Kelly has been with UMB since 2007 in a variety of roles within the Human Resources department. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in Organizational Development from Avila University.
